Call and ask if they would be okay with you taking it during the summer. I’d say that the chance of getting rescinded for dropping it is high.

@damian I’m pretty sure you’ll get rejected if you drop that math course.

@mermaker do you really think they would reject me all for 1 class?

^ Call and ask! You’re already borderline, dropping a pre-req is probably the worst thing you can do at this point. But call anyway.

@damian they told you to finish the math course or your admission will be revoked. I’m 100% sure that you will get rejected if you drop the course. Calling and asking them is the best thing you can do right now.

well they told me to finish chem and calc and ill be for sure finishing chem. Im about to call and find out once I get home

If it says you need to finish the course then you’ll more than likely be rescinded for dropping it. Think of it from their perspective, they offered you admission on the assumption that you’d have an important major prerequisite class finished. It isn’t a GE, it’s a major prerequisite so it’s likely an important lower division equivalent that’s necessary so that you can get started on your upper division coursework. For whatever reason you struggled with it over the normal spring term and now they’re going to hold your place on the assumption that you’ll pass it over an accelerated summer session? Also with the assumption that your CC is going to offer that class over summer and that you’ll be able to enroll in it. There’s a lot of uncertainty there.

I don’t mean to come off rude, but it’s just not a great situation to be in for either party. Now the pressure is on you to take the course crammed into a short time span and they have to wait to see if you’re actually going to complete it. Whereas maybe they could have offered your spot to someone that was slightly less competitive, but definitely had their pre-reqs finished.

Yeah I just called them they told me they would rescind my application. Im so mad now all because of stupid calculus

@dilapidatedmind they are offering the class at my cc over the summer ive already checked. They told me my only option is to repeal but that its very slim.
I dont know what to do this is the only acceptance ive gotten so far and i dont want to spend another year at a cc

@damiansevren- just curious, how did you check your gpa on myUCR account? ive been tryin to but dont know how.

@uctransfer21 after I got accepted from the home page I clicked on “Provisional admissions” and on the bottom it says my gpa.

How can you click provisional admit? It just says you’ve been admitted

@ac40507

After logging into the portal it says “Congratulations you’ve been accepted” Then at the very bottom there is a link saying “Dont forget to check your provisions of admission” clicked on that and it tells me the things I need to do in order to keep my admissions as well as my GPA.

All it says is complete classes with a C or higher

Here I screenshotted mine

http://i.imgur.com/s0kC1ME.png?1

i underlined where it says my gpa

Weird. Mine doesn’t do that

Mine doesnt show the gpa either

That’s very odd maybe its because my gpa is borderline?
