Yes, I know classes start on Sept 4th.
Rutgers has been slow in their process. I dont even have FA yet! But I am committing anyway.

Do you think the pickins will be slim if I register lets say...next week?

I have been in situations (not at Rutgers) where I have had to waste time AND money taking classes I didnt need just to maintain my student status because at time of registration there was nothing left! Do you think I will encounter this registering next week?

Really depends on what your major is. Some classes are quicker to fill up than others. And if you don’t get a class that you really need during registration I would recommend going to that class on the first day and trying to get a special permission number from the professor. Most professors are pretty understanding.

May I ask why and how you got yourself into this situation? Picking classes started way back in April. You can call the Registration office and explain your situation, and depending on your reasons, you may or may not get into classes you want with special permission.

are you upperclassmen or incoming freshman? You are at a disadvantage now because some classes are full already depending on your major, for example, it says all biology sections are closed, only a few chem sections are open and they are on Douglass. Most classes will have closed sections with a few open but not desirable to students because of the time and place they meet. For example, biology is offered on busch and douglass where almost 97% of the sections on busch are busch/livinston/college ave students taking the course and it would suck for them to go to douglass to take that course

If it is a big lecture hall type of class, you might be able to get a special permission number if it is closed. Call the department and ask if there are any available or see the instructor on the first day of class (even if you are not in it yet) and ask.

I know for a FACT, biology will not give out special permission number. You can go to first lecture but they will tell you to keep checking webreg

Also: Keep checking WebReg your first week of classes. People will be adding and dropping classes. If you don’t have time, have someone you know (mother? sister? friend?) do it for you.
