I'm a little confused here...I got two emails from Haverford over the course of the past two days about my Haverford email account. One of them says that I have to wait until the 31st to activate my account and the title of the other email says "your Haverford email account is ready. Activate it today." Do I have to wait until the 31st or can I activate my account today? Anyone been successful activating their account thus far? Thanks in advance for the advice.

yea i have already activated my account. i donn think u have to wait till 31st to activate your account... click the link that haverford has recently sent you. there u ll find your username and password automatically entered. from there on u will know how to activate the account...
after u activate your email account, u can also activate your blackboard acccount, login to go.haverford to participate in haverford disscussion forum..also u have to activate your email account before u fill in housing application

Hmmm....My computer froze on the last step of email activation. I'm still a little confused as to whether I'm activated or not. Haverford's site won't allow me to reactivate myself, and the housing form seems to be working for me now after several failed attempts...But I just can't seem to get on the blackboard site. I've emailed the tech dept at Haverford but I'm sure that they won't get back to me at least until Tuesday. I guess that I'll just have to sit tight until then, unless anyone has any suggestions.

hey, did u try to type "hc." to get access in to blackboard. if your account name is jrose, then hc.jrose is your username for blackboard.

i didn't get an e-mail ...

Redbull298, you should have gotten two emails at this point:
One from the first year dean of admissions Raisa Williams (rclark@haverford.edu) giving you a schedule of mailings to come this summer and another one from hcnet-request@haverford.edu telling you that your email account is ready to access. One was sent on May 27th and the other on May 28th. If you haven't gotten either of them yet, I'd suggest calling Haverford admissions and making sure that they've got your correct email address.

Haverunik, even with putting hc. before my username, I still can't get onto blackboard, which is strange considering I can access the housing form. Thanks for trying to help, though. I'll take it up with Haverford tech support when I call them on Tuesday.

this is what admissions said ..

it's my understanding that this information will be sent to you
sometime in June. The information will be sent b other offices on campus.

Hmmm...I'm not exactly sure what to say RedBull298 since I can't really argue with admissions. Just make sure that you get a Haverford account set up relatively quickly since according to their schedule of deadlines that they sent with one of the emails, the housing form is due online by June 8th.

BTW...to all you frosh out there- Now that you have your Haverford Email Addresses, you can finally sign up for Facebook, and join the addiction of pointless friend networking that has plagued colleges around the country. Wheee!

Hey all...just figured out what the problem was with trying to log on to blackboard. After reading the directions for the blackboard technology quiz, it says to log on to blackboard it requires a password that is different from the one that you created with your Haverford email account. I just wish I had seen those directions earlier. Hope everyone else can avoid the same mistake I've been making all week!
