Haverford or Swarthmore?

<p>Hi,
I'm having a bit of trouble deciding where I should apply ED. I have visited both schools and I really liked both of them but I was also unable to detect a distinct difference. Here's a little bit of things that are important for me for college if that would help anyone get an insight:
-I am looking for a college with a strong political science and English program (I am looking to go into journalism or human rights law)
-I would prefer a college that has a somewhat active social scene on the weekends (I do not need parties every night but do not want to be bored on the weekends)
-I was an athlete in high school and so were pretty much all of my friends, ill probably try to play a sport in college
-I am not a genius by any means but I'm a really hard worker who enjoys learning
-I come from a town that lacks diversity so I would like to see that in college </p>

<p>Thanks in advance!!</p>

<p>I think you need to investigate further, as there is a definite distinction between the two. Haverford, with it’s strict Honor Code, is a very different place - some find the Honor Code stifling, others enjoy the complete honesty and courtesy it imposes. And Swarthmore, with it’s activist, hard-core left-wing politics is thought by some to be too political a place in which they can be comfortable, either because they disagree with the politics or they’d prefer not to have it served 24/7.</p>

<p>Both are great schools, but both are not your typical college campus. If you weren’t able to detect a difference, you might need to look again, or you’ll wind up in the wrong place.</p>
