so last year, my GPA was 3.86. i got all A's in classes ap bio, ap computer, american lit, us history, pre-calc, world government/economics. I got ALL A's except guitar class. i got a B, how much will affect me? im not going music major.

Most colleges won’t care about grades in electives.

oh, im SOOOO WORRIED…

There’s not much you can do now, and it’s not a core academic class. Don’t sweat it.

Given the fact that admissions officers aren’t machines, they won’t care about your guitar class. Worst case scenario, they won’t recommend you to the guitar club…

i can upgrade my grade, and then i’ll get a 3.83

You will get rejected from all the Ivie’s, and the CC’s will be disgraced and disgusted to have you as their student.

Therefore, you will become a “Hot-Potatoe” student. . .

Don’t sweat it.

Uh, you can’t shred on your guitar or rock out so therefore, I can’t see any colleges wanting you.

i heard some people say that a 3.8 is like a line for ivy league and top tier schools…do they calculate a seperate GPA just with core classes??

Similar concern with a B+ in journalism.

Yes I got a C in Basket Weaving does this mean I’ll have to retake high school?

Have no fear, feareman, you can take Extreme Underwater Basket Weaving over the summer and earn that credit back!

^The only difference between you and I was the that I was being sincere.

Threads like these make me lose faith in humanity.

^^Reed offers it during the spring

Perhaps this might put this in perspective. My D got a C+ in math in 9th grade and a C in French in her junior year, for the most part she got A’s though and an occasional B. She is well rounded and has a lot going for her, but my point is that she got into not one but TWO ivies! (I am imagining that is what you are after) So do not fret, what is meant to be will be!

Reed offers UBW in January between semesters; it’s a humorous and relaxing decompression tradition. :)

thanks guys, so the GPA on the transcript is not the actual GPA they look at?

i heard addmission people use the grades u entered in online to check up your real GPA .
