Having Difficulty Choosing Schools

I’d appreciate getting some feedback in regards to the better SUNY school to attend for the fall as a transfer student for Computer Science & Physics specifically.

The schools I’ve gotten into so far (or on hold until Spring grades are submitted) are:
Oneonta
Plattsburgh
SUNY Polytechnic

I’m kinda on the fence about Polytechnic as there’s not much information on it, and a lot of students apparently transfer out.

I also applied to SBU (Information Systems) and U Buffalo(Comp. Sci), but I have a feeling I won’t get in as my GPA is too low and my transcript isn’t all that hot.

Out of the three schools I got accepted to, which one is better for Comp Sci/Physics?

Thank you

It depends on which SUNY Polytechnic you’re referring to. I only have experience with people around Polytec Utica, and if that’s what you’re looking at, I would highly recommend studying computer science there. My dad taught there for a few semesters. It’s defiantly not the most exciting school to go (not very good campus life) but it is cheap and you get so much bang for your buck with compsci here. I can’t speak for physics, but Utica Polytech is a great school for compsci.

I would say Plattsburgh has the best “package” of campus life and academic quality.

Two of my children attended Plattsburgh and both loved it.

My son took physics classes and enjoyed them, He took comp sci classes and hated them. He was a poli sci major but his friends told him they thought he’d enjoy comp sci. His friends were wrong.

I would be wary about SUNY Polytechnic right now, especially the Albany campus. There have been layoffs, legal investigations, and lots of things in limbo. They bad actors have been removed, but lots of uncertainty. http://www.thedailynewsonline.com/bdn06/transparency-needed-in-suny-polytechnic-scandal-20170913
