My school does gpa on a 100 point scale whereas everywhere that I look seems to talk about the 4.0 scale. If I have a 93 average overall at my school taking almost all of the hardest classes will this take me out of the running for admission?
No that’s pretty good. My school does not offer a 4.0 scale gpa and my application was accepted so don’t stress too much about that
I doubt that a 93 average would completely take you out of the running, but you will need more to get into Stanford.
@DadTwoGirls not necessarily.I’m pretty sure mine was somewhere in the 80s/100. A 93/100 is competitive for Stanford. If ones EC’s and essays are strong then they have a chance.
Everyone has some vulnerable spot in their app whether its GPA, essays, ECs, recs or standardized test scores. Problem is, you can’t have more than one unless you have a hook (like recruited athlete). Hit all the rest out of the ball park. Nothing wrong with an A- average, however.
I don’t think it will keep you out. If I remember correctly, Stanford recalculates your GPA anyways (ignoring freshman year grades too).
It won’t keep you out. It won’t “probably won’t keep you out,” it literally won’t keep you out of the running.
Don’t worry.
