How bad is hazing at the U of R? Does anyone have any stories?

Never heard of it there but my knowledge isn’t exhaustive. Don’t know what every sports team, every frat may do but the RA’s, etc. won’t allow it in the dorms.

OP, what makes you ask? Are you referring to frats, athletics, or in general???

I was referring more to sororities. I’m just curious because I’m thinking about joining one

No hazing (at least in the sorority D2 belonged to) unless you count making the pledges wear their sorority colors everyday for a week. Pledges also had to memorize a bunch of stuff, but no one got punished for not getting it perfect.

Also kind of the opposite of hazing, your Big Sister in the sorority gives you a gift every day during Pledge Week.

@WayOutWestMom sounds good, thanks!

My kid says there is no hazing in sororities and the school is very strict about it. Says a few frats have been placed on probation for what most kids would say is mild stuff that’s not comparable to the hazing you hear about.

im currently in a sorority and i can tell you that hazing shouldn’t be a concern. The school has a high no-tolerance policy for it. its a great, enriching, and open community and you will under no circumstances be forced into a situation you dont feel comfortable in
