I understand that this monitor will be a kick ass monitor, with 1080p capable (highest so far) right?

but heres my question, it only says it has DVI, and while the playstation 3 that i plan to get with this monitor only supports HDMI (not until after christmas, im not an idiot). does that mean i can just get a cable capable of converting the signal and just plug that from the PS3 into this monitor?

from what i've heard, TVs usually come standard with HDMI and monitors with DVI, why is that?
and if i plan to use my monitor with my computer AND ps3, does that mean there isnt enough ports for both? (provided theres only 1 slot of DVI)

ahh im blabbing, so in all, can a ps3 display 1080p (with sound!! cause i thought that was an issue with DVI as it doesnt include sound) on this monitor with just a simple purchase of a cable

yeh, lol
now i know why ps3 'doesnt come' with a HDMI cable
at first, i was like , huh? why? its just a cable!!!
if they're stressing that ps3 is all HD and stuff, why not include the cable?
ridiculous

Getting a cable with HDMI on one end and DVI on the other end shouldn't be a problem, but you're right about there not being enough ports for both a PS3 and a computer (unless you use the VGA port for the computer or the composite port for the PS3--neither of which are digital). You'll have to either get a switcher or manually switch the cables whenever you want to go from one to the other.

Also, the reason the PS3 doesn't come with a cable is that there are so many different kinds that work with different TVs. For example, you need HDMI to DVI, whereas some people would need pure HDMI, or component, or even composite if they don't have a high def set. It would jack up the price if they included all of those (and it's obviously high enough already).
