He got in! The NASS waiting list works :)

Thanks to the forum for helping us push thru his new SAT scores, etc. within the Admissions office - we just got a call saying that he made it to the top of the waiting list and into a slot for Session C (June 17-22)!!! He's gonna be thrilled to hear the news when he returns from HS today.

It was a good news / bad news call at first, as NASS told us that he won the June 17-22 slot but I knew that was the same week as the Air Force summer session that we had already gotten into / paid for ($350). But as Navy has always been his first love, we were ready to cancel that for the opportunity of going to NASS. On the off chance that we might get lucky, I hung up with NASS and immediately called the Air Force Academy, ready to cancel, and increadibly they said "no problem, we'll just move him to the first session June 6-16. So Mike is gonna have a heck of a June - first to the AF for a week, flying home to NJ that Friday night, just in time for us to drive him down to NASS Sat morning. Can you say exhaustion ? But happy :)

Thanks again for all the advise guys and gals - I'll check the previous forum threads for other Session C reps and we'll look each other up on the 17th.

Dan Knight for son Micheal Knight, 2011

Congratulations! Fun summer for Michael.

Congrats! He'll manage--my dd had back-to-back NASS, State Patrol, AFA, AIM and two weeks in Rome...

So that makes four going to Session 3.

If he's able to, have him make an appearance on the forum sometime soon. The three of us who are going to Session 3 have talked via AIM, and we'd certainly like to get to know a fourth member before we all go in June. Perhaps we'll meet there or something.

Congratulate him for me, and if he ever feels like talking to a soon-to-be-fellow-NASSer, my AIM name is Mpsh32. Real name's Mike.

Right.

i'm in session 3, its coming up

was I counted in that list for NASS Session 3, I haven't talked to anyone yet via AIM or email for NASS, I've talked to several though for USMA SLS. We all really need to get an email list going so we can hopefully meet up sometime while we're there. PM me please lets try to get this thing going.

Also could someone elaborate more on the extent of the physical stuff at NASS, I recently got a job and am having trouble finding the ime to keep up with my running and work out schedules and am starting to become worried about NASS, right now I can do 56 Push Ups in 2 min. 102 Sit Ups. 7 Pull Ups. 7 min mile run, and 70ft bball throw. How do I compare? should I be worried?

mmm...you wouldn't happen to be a David Hasselhof fan would you?

Just curious...Knight Rider...Michael Knight...

spent lots of time thinking up names but finally went with a family name (Mike) forgetting about the old car show connection. The nurses at the hospital didn't, however, and reminded us quite a bit :)

You should note that he's more into vintage Ford Mustangs vs black Knight-Rider Firebirds (or was it a Camero?). We have rebuilt a '66 convertible (289 4 barrel) and are in the midst of re-working a '71 Mach 1 fastback.

I'll get him to AIM y'all asap. I just found this site and he's been so busy with other school activities I haven't hooked him into it yet. So post your AIM name(s) here if you haven't already, and we'll get a Session 3 chat going.
