Headed to Brown for Graduate School?

Howdy,

I recognize that this forum is primarily for eighteen year olds headed to the school in the fall, but I know of no other well-trafficked forum for grad schools. I’m headed to Brown in the fall to start a PhD in Applied Mathematics and was wondering if anyone else was Providence-bound, or is there in grad school now. I imagine the community is a bit removed from that of the undergrads, and am curious the real estate and social opportunities around town.

I’m going to be a grad student for one year next year in the Ed department. If you have AIM, you should catch me on there and we can chat.

congratulations! i’m an applied math undergrad at brown, although i have taken several grad-level classes and knew some of the graduate students here. would love to introduce you to some of the current students there if you have any specific question about curriculum/life/housing. however, i believe i’m your best option if you’re curious about how annoying undergraduates are towards the grad TAs!

Try the Grad Cafe. It has a great little community of applicants and graduate students.
