<p>[I will contribute my feelings after a few responses so as to not bias people haha]</p>
<p>Okay… I will lay it all out there… I am Canadian and am what most Americans call a “far left” dude… In Canada, I’m just another liberal. All I can say about this bill is… finally… in my opinion, its not nearly enough but at least somethings being done about Health Care Reform. Then again, what I think matters very little since this relates to America.</p>
<p>The bill is not enough. It does almost nothing to relieve the real problem with our healthcare system; the inherent lack of competition in a sector that is 16% of our economy. While I am happy that I will be able to be on my parents healthcare for 5 more years, I look unhappily towards the time where I will be mandated to buy a product with no other reasonable alternatives. Healthcare companies can still operate like trusts even though they can operate across state lines. The healthcare mandate is a massive corporate give-away, as people who couldn’t afford healthcare in the first place are now saddled with it.</p>
<p>But this definitely lays the groundwork for future reform that will correct these things.</p>

<p>This really shows how incompetent our representatives are. Healthcare increases in price by between 12 and 16 percent every year!!! This is ridiculous. This will slowly but surely make America’s producers uncompetitive. The easiest and fastest thing that we could have done was to simply make healthcare competitive. If Congress does not know how to do this they can easily observe competitive industries like consumer electronics, retail outlets, etc… Why should investment banks and other financial institutions be unable to start health insurance companies? Congress will feign some type of outrage at this spiraling costs and do nothing about it. </p>
<p>And why are there no provisions to make American’s healthier? No subsidies for healthy eating?</p>
