<p>So I'm wondering why somebody should waive SHIP, and if I do, can I still use UCLA Medical Center as the hospital? I hear it's pretty cheap for a health insurance plan.</p>
<p>Basic gives you vision but no dental, correct? You pay extra for Plus, which gives you dental?</p>
<p>I waived SHIP because I'm on my mother's insurance plan through her workplace, and it covers all my stuff.</p>

<p>Also, for other people, are we automatically in SHIP now and can only waive or upgrade to USHIP plus? I remember (I think?) we always had to sign up for it every year, or choose the quarters we needed it for -_-.</p>
<p>they changed it so you can waive the entire year now.</p>

<p>Nah, check out the SHIP website. You can waive all 3 quarters at the same time.</p>
<p>I mean. now I can waive all 3, but last year for some reason I did it one by one.</p>
<p>I liked it better when they let you do it quarter by quarter since I'm going abroad this year...oh well.</p>
<p>Maybe the option to waive it by quarter isn't effective until the quarter starts?</p>
