Health Sciences Major help?

OK, DS just finished freshman year with a 3.0 after a rocky start. He wanted nursing, but is also interested in radiology/imaging. He needs advice about relative competitiveness at OSU of these options.

He has taken calc 1, biology, chem 101 & 102 and engineeing 151, along with psych and soc 101.

I know someone who just graduated from OSU’s radiography program. I believe her program was very small, and involved a great deal of practical experience. She is moving out of state, but otherwise would have accepted a job offer from one of the hospitals she worked at during her clinical rotations. She is a high achiever, but I don’t know if the program itself is competitive to get into.

This link has some additional information on the traditional program:

Thanks, maybell!

Unless you are in the honors program and have an automatic admit to nursing program, it is very competitive. A 3.0 is not going to be good enough. This is from reading the osu nursing website. Nothing personal. The good thing about nursing though, is no one really cares about your undergrad - as long as you are well prepared and pass the NCLEX. I have heard good things about Otterbein University in Columbus - their nursing program. Also, it is much less competitive to go to an OSU branch like Mansfieur ld or Newark to get your RN.
