That looks amazing, Colorado_mom! My D and I love Snooze!
@Colorado_mom - after looking at your delicious food I think we will have to give Snooze another try. There is one within walking distance of our home, but we have never been since we ate at another one here in San Diego and didn’t like it several years ago. Time to give it another try.
LOL, I had assumed that Snooze only had Colorado locations. But now I’ve learned they exist in many states.
Never heard of Snooze but I will be in San Diego in March visiting my daughter so I’m going to have to try it out. I was already drooling over that photo when @Colorado_mom first posted it, but assumed it was a local CO restaurant. Now I’m glad to see they have other locations! The San Diego one is the only one close to anywhere I’ll be in the near future. It’s only a few miles from where my D lives.
@4kids4us - another San Diego breakfast place we like that has several locations around the city is Breakfast Republic.
@showmom858 I actually texted my D last night suggesting we try Snooze when I visit in March. She said she’d been there in college and thought there were better places - Breakfast Republic being one she mentioned. The other was Great Maple. But that meal colorado_mom posted looked so good! Anyway D said she’d give Snooze another try. I love breakfast food but rarely eat breakfast so it might be fun for me while visiting to try Breakfast Republic as well and compare.
My H loves Breakfast Republic because he always gets good coffee that stays hot. I love their breakfast tostadas. We have a Great Maple not far from us, but H prefers Breakfast Republic even though it is not close.
Another good place for breakfast with great views is Caroline’s at La Jolla Shores. Brockton Villa is also good and the views are amazing, but the stink from the sea lions at the cove ruins it.
Also we like the Breakfast Republic in PB, OB or Liberty Station better than the one in Mission Valley just for location.
I have been under the weather for several days. My boss thought he had a cold - turns out it was Covid. I’ve been very careful, but still managed to pick up a terrible cold. I had three rapid tests and my PCR just came back negative, thankfully. All this to say I haven’t felt like eating! Last night I made chili using one of the recipes from MyNetDiary. Mr. Sabaray pronounced it good as I couldn’t taste a thing!
I finally made this recipe recommended on Lentil thread. I think we accidentally doubled the taco seasoning, but it was still great. Instead of canned green chiles we used roasted anaheim peppers from the farmer’s market that we had in the freezer. My husband, often not a fan of instant pot dinners (we cook those together) or vegetarian recipes, liked it too.
Ok healthy habiters…what’s for dinner tonight? I’m low on fresh produce and not feeling up to a stop at the grocery store on my way home from work, so will have to make do with what’s in the house. So, it’s either going to be a tortilla espanola or rice and beans. What’s everyone else having?
Salmon, cauliflower (probably steamed and riced), salad.
I made a marinade for pork chops I bought yesterday. Dh will grill them for dinner and I’m roasting broccoli to go with it. I also have leftover brown rice/quinoa dish leftover from last night to go with it.
Last night I made these Chicken Romano meatballs that were a hit. We had them with grilled asparagus.

Well, since I got home to discover that DH made what I was planning to serve for dinner at lunchtime, I guess it’s the leftover beef stew.
Stew here as well.
I’m doing one of those Wegman’s semi-prepared meals - chicken in a Thai marinade that I (supposedly) just need to pop in the oven and it cooks perfectly. Here’s hoping!
Here, we have HEB, and they have those kinds of ready-to-eat meals. I love them! My faves are the spicy shrimp and bacon empanadas and the jumbo coconut shrimp!
Making a quick chicken tikka and a salad for tonight.
Not sure yet. I forgot to thaw the salmon. So probably leftover crockpot pot roast or maybe leftover quiche from Sam’s. We are also low on produce, so it will be frozen veggies again.
We did have a different lunch today. As a kid, we used to do takeout egg foo yung with our grandparents. It’s not as good here, but I ordered anyway as a change of pace at our Chinese lunch out on Monday. I ate all the egg patty there but took home a lot of leftovers. (The lunch special includes soup and egg roll). Since we do have celery and mushrooms, hubby was able to make a wonderful big omelette for us by sautéing that with the leftovers.
Whole wheat penne with mixed vegetables thrown in and red sauce. A little Parmesan.
