hear back from ucf summer 2012?

at write:
sorry about your brother. keep up your hopes though. you never know!
I have been folowing this thread for a while and finally today decided to join :)

@write I’m so sorry to hear that. When did he turn his stuff in to UCF?

And I hope you get accepted writee i really do. Just have hope

I know many people will not have access to this, especially out-of-state people, but Florida does have a college matrix and it basically lists all the admission and school statistics for all the major Florida colleges. You can find the whole Florida College Matrix 2011 online, but I’ll just tell you guys the Summer 2011 statistics for UCF.

Mid-Range GPA Accepted Summer 2011: 3.4-3.9 (recalculated)
Mid-Range SAT Accepted Summer 2011: 1560-1720 (CR+W+M)
Mid-Range ACT Accepted Summer 2011: 22-25

My d should get in if those are the mid range for summer- She just got an email from Indiana that they will accept her if she takes Pre calc or Trig next semester - She cant do that because we are on a year basis- She wants UCF so bad but Indiana was he second choice so now we are trying to fight with the school to say that she had a semester of trig within Algebra- If we would just hear from UCF this would not matter- so annoyed that others getting in with lower stats- we are happy for them but feel we should be in by now!!! Sorry- Write- your brother should have been deferred with those stats they arent bad???

If those are the midrange for summer, my d might get in for summer??? She has an SAT 1660 (CR+W+M), 3.4 and 24 ACT. She took the ACT again last weekend. We will see how next week goes! I wish good luck to everyone. I hope everyone gets in!
Gailbeth, Your daughter should hear the good news soon! hang in there!~

i think… if ucf does not accept me by end of next friday… (which will be my 2nd week after them finally procssing my highschool transcript) i’ll just attend usf since they accepted me already… i need to get this financial aid thing going before its too late :(

i’m really starting to lose hope on ucf

sblsubin,
Your second week is still early! It will be my daughter’s third week comming up. Do not lose hope. My d was accepted into FGCU, and she was really happy but she found out that their Journalism program is not accredited and it will be a while before it is. She is bummed and decided to apply to a few more, including UCF.

Overcome hopefully we will all hear soon

lalily-- love you for posting that.

you all need to keep in mind that the people on here are a very small percentage of students that are applying to UCF. so yes the people being accepted on here will most likely have really high stats, and we don’t see nothing but that because mostly everyone on CC cares about their education and has taken high school seriously, resulting in good stats. there is definitely a wide range of students accepted and most of them aren’t in the 2000 SAT range and 4. something GPA. just keep that in mind, don’t lost hope guys! i think we should all get in, and we all really deserve it  good luck everyone

overcome-- your daughter and I have almost identical stats… 1080/1680, 24, 3.3

I’ll try and keep hope…He DID apply for fall. But I just want this so bad, and I’m not sure it will happen. I literally started crying because HE didn’t get in. Imagine what will happen when I don’t.

We’re considered in state. We’re in Illinois, yes, but we were born in Florida, and we have Florida prepaid, which is considered in state. He applied for fall, I applied for summer. I told him to apply to summer, his ACT was too low for fall. But he didn’t listen. He had a 23 ACT, and about a 3.8 GPA. No awards, no community service, and I’ll admit, his essays could have been much better. But still…it’s hard.

UCF is my #1 school and I want to get in so badly as well! I check like several times a day! xP I don’t have fantastic grades and test scores, but I have good extracurriculars and I thought my essay was good.

totally agree lalily. i wish they saw how much we love it, rather than the people who don’t even like it and just want UF.

Unfortunately, it is a business and they accept the people with higher scores first, because they believe those are the students that are more likely to graduate, which means more prestige and money for the school. =/

It would be awesome if we all heard next week one way or the other! I hate the waiting!
I am confident that you guys and d included will make it :)

@overcome… well when i’ve talked to the supervisor of admission… they told me to call back in 2nd or 3rd week of october if it doesnt say anything… that’s why i decided on calling them on friday next week.

and i’m having a good… well i guess bad feeling that i won’t be accepted to ucf…
i’m trying to transfer from usf… (attended in 2008 only for a year)…
i have less than 30 credits, so they said they’d look at my high school transcript… which wasnt THAT bad… 3.9 something gpa… and sat… wasnt that great either… i think i had 590 on math and 480 on reading and 500 on writing… yes… i’m not that good with english… lol and… since i’ve dropped bunch of classes in my freshman year… i think that will get in the way too…

WRITE- sorry for your brother but before he gives up hope get a reactivation form…have him re-evaluated for summer. Much better chances. Hope to see you all at school next year!
