That matrix should be our defense if we don’t get in, that gives me hope!,based on that we should be in for summer!, I’m going to email admissions from d emsil Tuesday ascit will be two weeks they havevbeen processing and four weeks since itvwas all there

That’s exactly what I told my brother. He justed walked in, told me to go check the laptop, I did, and my heart literally sank. I understand they would reject him for fall-I specifically told him that. But not even offer him summer, or even defer him? Really? He’s not the very head strong twin, and doesn’t long to show emotion. I’m a girl, and opposite of that. So I emailed admissions, writing a solid question (he’s not good at writing) typed ‘justin bauer’ at the end, and sent it. Basically, I asked if there was anyway he could reapply for summer. If he doesn’t get into UCF, he’s going to western Michigan-which he doesn’t like, at all. I just wish I could know what admissions is thinking. When they rejected him, I quickly checked mine, and for the first time in a Month was HAPPY to see, ‘Your application is currently under review’. Just doesn’t make sense to me…

The only thing I could think of why UCF rejected your brother was that he was out-of-state, his essay, and the fact that he didn’t have any extracurriculars.

according to that site i should be in… so i’m crossing my fingers. maybe just deferred for mid-year grades if anything. and write- your brother is in the high range for gpa and just on the dot for the act… so i don’t understand at all.

Hey guys, do you guys have this all the way at the bottom of your UCF Application Status Check?

“If you have applied for financial assistance, the award that has been packaged for you may be affected if and when your residency status changes.”

Well UCF really wants the well-rounded student. I think they would at least accept a person who has decent grades and great extracurriculars. UCF is not only a great school academically but also a very active social school. It’s not only UCF as well. My friend was valedictorian and didn’t get to any Ivy Leagues colleges because he really didn’t do anything throughout school. I’m not sure if UCF will do this but i heard that sometimes if you called the school you can ask them why you were denied.

Nope I don’t have that

WRITEfuidity-
Firstly, I am very sorry to hear about your brother and if I may suggest, there is an appeal process that you may consider or even possibly re-apply again from new ( possibly they won’t remember the 1st rejection ) to summer term and verify that he is really an in-state applicant vs. an out-of state applicant.
In regards to you and I hope it makes you feel better;
I also had the same message as you do on your status page,
‘Your application is currently under review’
for a period of a week before I got in, so hopefully this is good news for you !
God Bless !

Thanks everyone, very much. We’re looking for him to reapply, but for summer. It was a bit odd how I reacted-I took it as my OWN rejection, because I really assume that’s what it means. All I ask is to be defered. Then I have some kind of chance, at least.

Yes, exactly-
As a matter of fact, I saw another thread indicating that UCF was slow with the admissions process and although my school stated they sent in my high school transcripts weeks ago, UCF indicated they still had not received it. After thorough investigation, it turned out that my school screwed-up and never sent UCF my transcripts to UCF when promised. My school FINALLY sent in the transcripts on Monday morning 10-03-2011 and later that afternoon, the UCF website updated my status to exactly what yours stated and within 7 days 10-10-11, I got the congratulations for fall, now pay $200 message from ucf. So GOOD LUCK

My daughter’s application status has had the same message for two weeks now.(application currently under review)

RETAKE the SAT which will be given November 5th, ((I think)), just pay the extra late fee by October 20 and you can still sign-up. A 1660 is below average and your GPA is also a little low. If you can raise your SAT to over 1800, then you should be fine. Also retake the ACT !
The problem with your stats is that they are just mid-range and your admissions can go either way. Good Luck

daviddj

I just re took the SAT’s on the 1st, I should get those scores back on the 20th. If I dont have a decision by the 20th then i will send those SAT scores as well to add onto the ones they have

^^^
If I recall and I may be wrong, the next SAT scores come out on Oct 20 &
you still have until the 21st for late registration for the Nov 5th SAT. Suggestion- retake the SAT. Good Luck !
Note- On my fourth attempt @ the SAT, I super-scored a 2140 with the blessing from the man upstairs. I am still thing about taking it again also. Every point helps ! Good Luck !

I feel like all of you guys have a better chance of getting in than me =/

Same here. You just see how good everyones stats is, comparing it to our own, and you try to shrug off that, “Oh…****’,” feeling.

Who knows how they work the admissions process. Maybe they have a certain percent of students they require to accept from lower to higher stats. Let’s be positive and enjoy the weekend (i am telling that to myself) This coming week should be exciting!
