hear back from ucf summer 2012?

You’re being deffered because they’re unsure of whether or not you’re here in the U.S illegally? I’m sorry, but that’s the funniest thing I’ve ever heard. I love UCF (or more so an unhealthy obssession) but their admissions is beyond words, in a BAD way. I really hope you get this straightened out! It’s very unfair.

Does anyone have this?

Residency Status: Your residency status determination is pending receipt of additional documentation requested by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. We have sent this request for information via mail to the permanent address listed on your application. Please allow 2 weeks after application submission for receipt of this request. Documents should be submitted for review at least two weeks prior to the first day of classes. You will be billed as non-Florida for tuition purposes unless your in-state residency status has been verified prior to the start of the term. For questions or concerns regarding this status, please call 407-823-3538.

If you have applied for financial assistance, the award that has been packaged for you may be affected if and when your residency status changes.

lalilyx3, under what tab do you have this info?
Also, my daughter SAT scores went from 1010 to 1080 R and Math combined. ACT 24. I wonder if she has better chances now for summer with a 3.4 GPA??
all combined R+W+M= 1710 now

Dolphinfreak,
maybe you should call and make sure they got it? What are they doing??!

I got this right under the Additional Information section in the Application Status section.

Wow, this is simply unbelievable. How have they not counted you as a resident?! I don’t even LIVE in florida (live in illinois). I was borin in sarasota, and moved up here when I was five. When we lived down there, my parents signed us up for Florida Prepaid. I just sent the card, and it says I’m a resident now, or classified as one. I find it really obtuse that they would easily lable me as a resident, when I’m not one, and not lable you as one, when you ARE.

Im gonna hand deliver it to them on Saturday since Im going there anyways. I also emailed it and priority shipped it. No way they cant get it now.

As for the other thing, they said they don’t need it until after you get accepted.

I know but I’m really paranoid about everything and my friend said she got accepted after the residency was turn in. And I think they do it for everybody, since anybody can just claim that they live in FL. I think you counted as a resident cause you sent your card to them.

By the way, my friend that got accepted yesterday got in with a 1070 SAT, 3.1 UW GPA, 3.6 Weighted GPA, 23 ACT, and soccer for 3 years. She did go to one of the nation’s top high school freshman & sophomore year with honor roll though.

Okay, I just confirm to myself that I probably messed up with the residency info. -_-

lalilyx3, Thank you for sharing that info. Did your friend get in for summer? That brings hope.

On the app for Florida residency I had to provide one of my parents
Florida drivers liacense and issue date

Drivers registration for the state of Florida

And

Voters registration and county in the state of Florida.

Didn’t you.

Yeah I did, but I had to do this all by myself so I didn’t really know what was what. My mom doesn’t know either and I didn’t put in the voter’s registration since she’s not a voter. =/
Can you guys help me? I gotta send them another file for residency status and I want to do it right this time. Like which is the driver’s license and vehicle registration number?

Does anyone know if they like community service hours, leadership positions, or interesting stuff you did outside of school?
Community service hours: 630 currently
Leadership position: Head of my orchestra (First chair) and coached a cheerleading team for three years, and they got ranked second in state this year.
Outside of school: One of the few things was that I wrote two novels. Not published, of course (I WISH!).

I’m just hoping some of my things will make up for my low ACT and GPA. I just want to be deffered.

lalily, I’m pretty sure you’re fine in the residency area. I believe I had that message at some point as well too. I think it is just saying to be considered as a florida student for tuition documents must be sent in to verify this before term starts…

I feel like people get accepted after their residency is confirm though =/

No. not at all. I already called them about it and they said it wasn’t needed. But then again, they said they had all my papers and now I know they didnt

hi guys. i also applied to UCF Summer on Sept 1.

My GPA is 3.8 but on UCF’s scale it’s 3.2

My SAT’s are 1140 (R+M) and 1700 (R+M+W)

i have over 500 community service hours and a strong essay.

anyone have any idea what kind of decision i should be expecting??

I really do believe that they are likely making in-state decisions faster than out of state. I have no proof, but it would only make sense since they have incentive to give priority to in-state.

As to residency statement on the web, I agree, it means nothing except that if you are accepted you will have to prove residency for in-state tuition.

We received a residency form/affidavit in the mail within a week after applying for admission on 9/25 (before my S was accepted) with a letter stating we had to complete the form before the first term begins. Then we were notified that my S was accepted on 10/17 (in state, 1250/1810 SAT, 27 ACT, 3.8W gpa, etc.).

Good luck everyone. It’s still WAY early in the game. Most of my son’s friends who are applying to UCF just sent their apps in this past weekend. I think they receive over 30000 freshman apps each year.

I emailed UCF admission and they said I am a FL resident. I then checked the online status and it changed to saying that I’m a FL resident! =]
