Write, it was a good idea to email them to try and leave an impression on how badly u want to go to the school… I said a week ago we had similar stats, mine being just a tiny bit better with emphasis on my extracurriculars…I think you should keep emailing the officer who emails you back to try and leave an impression or form some kind of relationship with the officer emailing u back…
BTW, what were your MATH and SCIENCE scores for the ACT? U said u did well on reading and English…

Between anyone who has applied to USF, I got an email back from one of the admissions people saying that they will send decisions out around thanksgiving.

& The wait for UCF continues.

Thanks seabrz but my first choice is UCF so I’m set. Good luck to you though!

Thank you and congrats on getting into UCF!

Thanks! I’m glad.

Very, very low. I’m very embaressed of them, to be honest-neither were never my strong subjects.
Math-17
Science-20 or 21, I forgot, to be honest.

During the math portion, as soon as I understood how to solve the problem, I needed to move on. Just this year, my pre calc/trig class was retaught Sin,cos, Tan (Sohcahtoa) 30-60-30 triangles, etc…that’s stuff that we were supposed to be taught our SOPHMORE year. As soon as my teacher review it, we all realized we had the same math teacher our sophmore year, and that’s why we didn’t learn it. It makes me so angry, because I remember how many times I saw that on the ACT math portion. That’s why I’ll be retaking the ACT in december-I don’t think my math can get worse, I can only go up from there.

The two biggest things, in their minds, is what’s holding me back. My extra ciriculars (Not to sound arrogant, believe me, I have NO confidence in anything) are really, really good. Especially in community service-how many people are going to have 700 hours? Then there’s the writing, the published writing, my violin awards, coaching a cheer team, now I’m on the board of directors, and working over 30 hours a week, sense freshmen year. Why can’t they look at these things, and actually care about them just as much? In my email, I got personal, and told them of some very, very personal issues. I don’t want to use them as excusses to my grades…but they played such a huge role. I couldn’t concentrate on grades when I was treading dark waters, and in a really dark state, at that time. But they don’t care about that.

Keep in touch with an officer

Math is bad, but not terrible

Message from Admissions today:
I guess my daughter has ben deffered. At least we know now.

“The Admissions Committee will want to see your first semester grades before making a decision (we do not recalculate GPA’s based upon quarter grades so we will put the ones you are sending into your file but you will need to also send the first semester grades when they are available). Once we receive those, the Committee will review your admission file again.”

Her status update:

“A decision has been deferred pending receipt of your first semester senior grades from high school. In order to ensure timely admission consideration, please submit them at your earliest convenience. Your high school can submit them electronically, if possible, or by mail to UCF Undergraduate Admissions, P.O. Box 160111, Orlando, FL 32816-0111.”

Disclaimer: This is your current status. Your status is subject to change at any time depending upon receipt of new information and further review by the Admissions Committee.

Overcome

What is your daughters stats?

Overcome-That’s a good thing:) It’s much better then being rejected! As long as she keeps her senior grades up after the end of first semester, she should have a very good chance of gaining acceptence!:)

Ah, I know, the math is really, really bad.

@write

Expect a decision soon bc of that email you shot to them.

Oh, dear god, lol…

Overcome-

That’s not too bad! Just tell your daughter to get mostly As and a couple Bs. The first quarter is over, and hopefully she did well… One more quarter left

looks like i’m either deferred or denied then =/

Yes, I agree with Kyle. My daughter kind of complained about the status of her app being the same for 5 weeks and then they updated it.
Her Stats are:
3.3 gpa
SAT: 1080/1710
ACT: 24 (old score, waiting for new one next week)
100 + community service hours.

Thank Goodness this quarter she has really good grades, all A’s and B’s Honors and AP classes.

as21,
If you applied a long time ago, write to them. We emailed like five different people, (lol)
and finally one gave us a straight forward answer. It was Elizabeth Costello.
Elizabeth.Costello@ucf.edu

It’s almost been 4 weeks. I emailed them Monday, still no answer. Are you in state?

@as21

It took 7 weeks for them to get back to me. So relax
