I applied to Penn State November 27th, just before the Nov. 30th deadline, and I'll my stuff was completely received by December 4th. How long do you think it will be until I hear back (I am a "middle-of-the-pack-" applicant: 1830 SAT, 3.2 UW, 3.6 W)?

Friend applied the 30th and heard back today, accepted. It’s rolling so it honestly depends on several random factors…

3.2 isn’t middle of the pack… 3.5-3.6 UW is middle of the pack.

Honestly, with such a late application and low-ish statistics, I wouldn’t be too surprised if you got directed into a side campus. Many people who applied October with your stats haven’t heard back yet…

But you’ve still got a fair chance getting into UP

or2013 - do you know what your friends stats were?

xinzeli - very true, my stats are lower… but i did apply within the priority deadline!

3.6 gpa
18?? On the sat
Top 25% of the class
Solid EC’s and course difficulty

hmmm i’m sort of similar except, of course, my GPA is only a 3.6 when it’s weighted lol and my school doesn’t do rankings… hopefully i hear back soon! thanks :)

Yep don’t get yourself worked up over it, makes time pass so much slower.

And no one gives a (insert something here) about weighed GPA. Class rank is much much more important with the Unweighed.

With a 3.2 uw Penn State is a reach. The people I know who have been accepted (not this year, but last year (none of my friends applied this year)) with those SAT scores all had a 3.5+ uw.

ArtsyGirl13 i agree, but it’s worth a shot! looking at my transcript its all due to freshman year so maybe if they take that into consideration i might still have a chance haha

What was your GPA by year and do you have a valid reason for the low GPA?

ArtsyGirl13 my school doesnt do it year-by-year, it just gets added to your cumulative. and no not really. i was out of school for a month first semester frosh year (from having the flu) which was what really screwed me up. my teacher touches base on that in my letter of rec, idk if that helps or not

bumpppppp!

88 GPA, 25 ACT, applied September 20th. What are my chances?
