Hearing impairment and Disability Services at USC

My son has a hearing impairment. All of the schools he has been admitted to have been timely in responding to questions and accommodating. At USC, there is apparently no receptionist and we have difficulty getting through to a live body. When we did, got a grad asst who could not answer questions. Told that at USC, the Dept of DS is “siloed” requiring contact with many rather than one go to caseworker. Looking for other parents/students, to tell me about their positive and negative experiences with USC Dept of Disability Services. Thank you.

My son has a hearing impairment as well and we have found USC disability services to be wonderful! You are correct that if you call the counselor can change but I’ve asked for a specific person and been obliged. They have also been quick to respond for a request for new accommodations- they turned around in two days a last minute request for a note taker. Does that help?
