Thursday night my chest started to hurt. Friday I wake up and my chest continues to hurt. Despite that, I head out for my 7hr drive to college registration. My chest continued to hurt that night, and my mom said maybe it's because of too much caffeine. So the next day (Saturday) I decide to not drink any soda and instead drink water, lemonade, gatorade etc. The chest pains went away.

I wouldn't say it was close to a heart attack because I didn't feel any numbness in my arm nor dizziness. Is it possible that my heart problems could have been because of too much caffeine?

*On average I pull in about 30oz of soda, and over the last few days I've only been getting about 5hrs of sleep.

Sure, it could be due to caffeine, stress, depression, etc. However, to be sure that the cause is , please see a doctor, and don't rely on advice from strangers on an Internet board.

when i was seven i had an episode of tachycardia, and doctors said it was from too much caffeine (i honestly don't remember how much i was drinking back then, but it could have easily been 30oz+, which is alot for a little kid) anyway, i'm not saying that's what you had, my point is that caffeine can affect your heart. I would quit soda anyway.

Oh I had those heart pains ages ago. I told my parents and they thought I was joking..
And I told my friends while I was IN PAIN and they thought I was joking and started laughing.
I never knew what caused those pains... now I know... caffeine...my best friend...
