I had a question regarding this earlier for my friend, who I though was being unreasonable.
Fellow guys, would you date someone taller than you?
Girls, would you date a guy shorter than you?

I wonder how the dynamics worked both ways. I always thought that height difference only mattered for girls, not guys.

I wouldn’t date a guy shorter than me because I’m barely 5’2". That’s just way too short…no offense to guys of that height, just not my preference :)

I’m 16 and 5’9, so I’m taller than most girls, and by the time I’m done growing I should be 5’11 or 6’. I don’t think I would ask out a girl who was taller than me unless it was a special situation, like I already new her, and was in love with her or something like that.

I’m 5’3" and my girlfriend’s 5’5", so I don’t think it really matters… If you have feelings for someone, a few inches – or lack thereof – shouldn’t matter.

It’s funny, because if you look at some of the men we’d call hyper-masculine, they date women taller than themselves (Tom Cruise, Mick Jagger).
Golf, 5’9 is about average. Not short.
I’m 5’11, and I don’t really care about height. However, I’d probably not date a midget :o.

Golf, what if a 5’9" guy had everything else you were looking for? Tan, white teeth, shiny hair, charming, not arrogant or narcissistic, 160+ IQ, great muscle tone, etc.? If he was otherwise perfect, would those 3 inches still seal his fate?

I personally think height being considered in dating is generally ridiculous. Sure, if the other person is a 7’6 hulk or 3’4 midget, that’s crazy. Otherwise, how does it make a difference?
