Thank you very much

Match: Penn State, American University, UNC Chapel Hill, U Maryland
Reaches: NYU, Georgetown
NYU and Georgetown get a ton of well-qualified applicants every year, so they have to reject some very good, involved students. I think you have a shot though. It’s all about what you can do for the university, so do some research on what they might be looking for, and apply into an unusual field or do whatever you can to make it look like you belong at your dream university.

I’m sorry, but there is no way UNC is a match. Out-of-state is ridiculous. It is a high reach for almost any out-of-state applicant

The Maryland schools are probs safeties because youre In State. UNC is a reach because OOS. Georgetown is reach but not a huge one, you have a chance. Ind some matches all are on pretty much the extreme ends. NYU may be a high match, but fin a school you really fit into. Your GPA is what hurts you for these schools right now, and CR on SAT.

do you recommend i retake the SAT this october then, or should i just work on SAT IIs?

oh and i’m not sure if this matters, but junior year my gpa was the highest with a 3.86

Yes. Work on the SAT for either October/november. Ad then the subject tests for the other month. Personally I don’t find the subject tests that hard to prepare for.
