I'm SO stuck right now. I just can't decide between Quinnipiac University, University of Vermont, and SUNY Buffalo.

Quinnipiac - Nice campus and I know I will have the most fun here probably. But how much will my degree be worth in a few years?

UVM - I don't like the campus and I don't think I'll get along with the people who go here. I do know UVM is probably the best school out of the 3 academically though.

SUNY Buffalo - Okay campus. Not the best. Good programs and sciences for me. It is in the middle academically?

So I am having issues with if I want to have fun or be in my room all day studying. :(

Quinnipiac advertises on College Confidential so their credibility…???. I would honestly choose UVM and if you don’t like it, transfer out to school that you feel comfortable in. Not sure about SUNY Buff.

Pick the school you’ll have the most fun at of the bunch. You will only have “the best 4 years of your life” once. You do not want any regrets years later.

If UVM doesn’t fit you, personally, then no matter how well it ranks, you should not go there. If you go to a school you don’t like, it’s more likely you won’t do well there. And why be miserable for the next few years? You have other good schools on your list. If you don’t like UVM, scratch it.

When I look at the details of SUNY Buffalo and Quinnipiac, they really are pretty equal in terms of academic reputation and even in terms of ranking on charts like US News and others. I think you can feel quite free to pick either one without compromising your academics. So think about which one suits you best. Which offered you the best aid (if that matters - which one would you owe the least in loans for?). Think of things like location, campus environment, the availability of the programs you want.

It seems to me like you prefer Quinnipiac. If so, then feel free to choose it, without worrying about what your degree will be worth in a few years. The school is solid, academically. There is nothing wrong with it.

In fact, I consider it an up and coming school. It’s climbing the rankings, it’s becoming better known. If you like it, it’s not a bad choice.

I noticed that one of those big College ranking guides had Quinnipiac University there number one up-and-coming schools. I’ve heard good word-of-mouth about it in-state but have no info on SUNY-Buffalo.

RonPaul, I know this may sound silly but it was a gut feeling. I come from a small town and UVM seemed like a small town. And have you ever watched the movie Twilight? Notice how it is always cloudy in the movie. I got that vibe from UVM. Not to mention during a 2 hour campus tour, I saw that 50+ % of the campus is made up of skaters. Must be practicing for the snowboarding/skiing season?
