I am a freshman major in Mathmatics and I really want to transfer into Northwestern.
Now the problem is that I only have a GPA of 3.37.
In this semester, I chose calculus- based physics and got a A( That's not my major required)
And my calculus 1 got a A
my English course got a B
However, my school calculate another (lower level) english course which I took in summer and got a C!!!!!!!!!!!( I've never thought it will be calculated into my GPA before) But you see, I make a progress.... Sigh...
So the fact is that my GPA is really low.
But I think my next semester's GPA will be much higher.
My SAT score is 2000.
and my toefle is 100.
My high school GPA is about 3.8 or 3.9.

If you think my GPA is really really low......I will give up.
Thank you.

Yeah I would try to raise that GPA as much as possible for Northwestern. I'm not sure about that SAT score, it might be okay. A solid essay and recs with decent ECs might get you in but keep working hard to the end.

what school are you at? basic stuff

ranked about 60....

i wouldnt discount you for this round of admissions, but you will have a better chance if you wait till next semester to xfer (i believe nw accepts mid year transfers) and you are able to raise that gpa up a bit

You really need to get the GPA up. I would even suggest taking classes that you think you can get As in because to transfer into most schools, the informal cutoff GPA is usually around 3.5. The good thing is you are doing welll in the field you want to concentrate in. Do not give up! Just try to boost that GPA a bit and get some really good recommendations and I think you will have a fighting chance :)

good luck!
