Help a junior with colleges?

So, I'm trying to figure my chances at getting into some schools...

Personal Stats:
-SAT=2280 (800CR, 780M, 700W)
-SATII Math=800
-SATII US History=750
-waiting on lit score...

Lots of volunteering (over 500 hours), some leadership positions (ie editor of school newspaper), magnet school, almost all AP classes.

Yes, I know, don't my stats look like every other person's? =]

Anyways, I'm planning on probably majoring in business and economics, but I need to find some safety schools...

My reach schools are HYP, Wharton (Penn), Columbia, Chicago

My medium schools (what are these called exactly?) are UVA, Georgetown, Rice, Vanderbilt, Emory

My safety school is UMCP.

So I'm wondering how feasible all of this sounds? Do you think I have a chance of making it into my reach/mediums? Any suggestions for other schools I could apply to?

Thanks!

GPA? your SAT scores seem fine to me…

Oh, GPA was slightly over 3.9 last time I checked. The hardships of magnet programs…lol

yeah your list sounds good, a 3.9 is really good!

Stats aren’t everything. We need more info about what you’re looking for…your college list is very eclectic (e.g. Chicago and Vandy).

I don’t really have any preferences about size, and location doesn’t matter too much unless it’s some random rural area…I’d prefer schools that are highly ranked for business or economics and have academic rigor. Yeah, I know some of it is pretty eclectic like Chicago and Vanderbilt, but honestly, I think I’d like Chicago more than Vanderbilt. The only reason Vanderbilt is on the list is because I think I have a shot at getting one of their merit based scholarships, and the school’s not bad. Cost does matter a bit since there’s no way I’d get any finaid…pretty sure my parents would only be willing to pay 50k a year for HYP, Wharton, and Columbia.

I guess you are from Maryland since UMCP is your safety?

Yeah, it’s pretty obvious, isn’t it?
