I have been dancing for almost 4 years (I am beginning my fourth year). I have a huge drive for dance, and dance around 6 hours a week (soon to be around 11). I have NO idea what to expect for dance auditions for colleges - my biggest fear is being able to keep up with the ballet combinations at the barre and in the center. I am a stronger modern, jazz, and contemporary dancer more than I am in ballet.

I have been looking at FSU, UGA, etc. Does anyone have suggestions as to where I should apply and audition?

Yes!! Pace University in NYC. Check out their BFA Commercial Dance program!! It’s a program rooted in ballet and jazz, but supplemented with contemporary, hip hop, tap, modern, and many other styles. I’m currently a sophomore in their program!

Do you like the school? Is it worth the money that you are paying?

I LOVE the school! I really couldn’t think of a place I’d rather be. Being in the city for college is an amazing experience!! And honestly, with all of the financial aid, scholarships, and grants I’ve received through Pace, I’m not paying a ridiculous amount of money! Every student I’ve met here at Pace has received multiple scholarships through the university.
