So I asked my teacher who is also my business professionals of america adviser for a letter of rec. I thought it would be great since I had her for 3 years and had a 100 every year and went to nationals to compete for the club. Well, she forwarded me her rec and she basically parroted my resume right down to the number of hours volunteered, to the number of AP classes, all the way to the SAT score. She hardly talked about her class and the club. and although she said I was great, the letter just seems well, bad. Should I ask her to be more personal, or at least cut out the SAT score nonsense, or perhaps just ask a new teacher altogether? HELP ME I'm freaking out since I'm applying early decision. November 1

I would ask another teacher ASAP .

If that’s the case, I don’t think the letter’s going to improve much even if you ask about it. You could try asking, and then only send the letter to a couple of safety schools so as not to offend your teacher by saying you’re not going to use the letter. Then ask another teacher for the rest.

Yeah I think I’m just not going to use it at all. She won’t be able to know that will she? I don’t want to offend her but I don’t want to use it as is right now… I’m just going to ask my AP Chem teacher for a rec tomorrow I guess and apologize for rushing her.
