Help! Can I get into Brown?

Ok so I am only a sophomore but I had my sights set on Brown since 7th grade and been determined to go there so I’ve been working hard to try and make myself stand out
last year (9th grade) my average was around 93 or 94 unweighted although this year I plan to get at least a 96 gpa and so far Im good. I take AP World History and English but not acc/ap math and science and I am plan on taking more vigorous courses junior and senior year.
I haven’t taken any SAT/ACT yet but I will be taking the PSAT in November
I have already started studying for the SAT tests since last year and I plan to score very high

My extra cirruclars include:
Field Hockey and Lacrosse with my school which I am captain
2 clubs
Volunteer Work (2 hours a week)
I am pretty good and field hockey and I’m thinking of playing at Brown to boost my chances
Over the summer I plan on doing the Summer @ Brown program as well

On top of this I have a teacher who went to Brown that I am really close with, he happens to do interviews for Brown and already told me that he is going to really help me a lot with getting in

I would do ANYTHING to go to Brown…I just really think I belong there but some people that its wayyyy to hard and I could never do it…anyone have advice?

Just keep taking the most challenging courses at your high school. You’re on track with your academics, try your best, and I’m sure you’ll do well wherever you end up for school.

Your extracurriculars are good and I’m sure that over the next two years you’ll participate in some other clubs and possibly get some leadership experience as well. It’ll also be good to maybe do something that most kids don’t do in high school…something that will set you apart from the rest of the applicants.

You have time! No worries. I’m sure you’ll do the best you can with the application process, and having that connection is always a good thing…you’re on the right track. A lot of it has to do with luck, so just remember you’ll end up somewhere that you enjoy even if it’s not Brown.
