What does "Number of SAT scores you wish to report" mean?

I already have one set of scores from October and intend to sit for another in December. I want to submit my applications by Nov 30 and send both my scores afterwards.

Am I supposed to pick "1"? As in the number of sittings I've had already? Or "2"? As in the total number of sittings I will have and want to send?

Put one and report your scores from that sitting. Also put that you have one future testing date. Once you get the scores from that, amend your common application.

I suggest also submitting your current scores if the deadline is prior to your December scores being available and then sending your scores again when they become available.

There is no amending the common application after you have submitted it. You can change the information online after the submission, but the college downloads the PDF created at the time you hit the submit button.

You will only be “reporting” one score on your Common App as of Nov 30, because you don’t know what the scores will be in December.

Most schools are not using your self-reported scores on the common app anyway, they are waiting for your official College Board score report to be sent to them. If you report October on your CA, then send them the Oct and Dec scores later, they will add both sets of scores to your file.
