Hey everyone!

So, I need help deciding if should apply under ED 2 to Union College (NY). I'll be studying Computer Science or Computer Engineering. For several reasons, I'm attracted to Union. Also, I can realistically get into Union College under ED2 and have my full need met. So I want to know these:

1) Will I get good internships while I'm at Union College? There are some companies I've always wanted to intern at. Like Google, Boston Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, etc.

2) Will I be able to get into a great grad school after studying at Union? I want to do masters at places like Stanford or Berkeley.

This is all assuming of course that I work hard, have a great GPA and work on awesome projects. I have seen their website, but I just want some reassurances.

Thanks everyone!

Hi! I’m Jordan, a junior intern in the admissions office here at Union!
To answer your first question, Union has great resources through your academic advisor as well as the Becker Career Center on campus that can help you find an internship. You can work with a professor through the process, or with the Career Center to help create a resume and use their database to find an internship close to your interests! The Career Center is a great resource and is dedicated to helping students find jobs and internships in their field of interest.
For your second question, Union’s academic system will definitely prepare you for things like graduate school, getting a job, etc. granted you work hard (as you mentioned)! Again, here at Union we have great resources, especially through professors and academic advisors, which will help guide you during your time at Union as well as after graduation.
Generally the admission rates are slightly higher for Early Decision applicants, so I encourage you to apply! Keep in mind that the deadline for ED II and RD applications is tomorrow, January 15!
Hope I answered your questions!

Hi, Jordan! Thank you so much for the assurance. Glad to hear I haven’t gone wrong. I sent my ED2 agreement a couple of hours ago and even received acknowledgement from Mrs. Mary Vellines. Hope to see you soon!
