Union ED

Our D is seriously considering applying to Union ED. We visited campus in April and she is returning for an interview and another tour next week. She is within the range academically, very socially adept, and has strong ECs (community service founder at Boston Children's Hospital and dance, among others). She is leaning toward social sciences and is undecided about a career, although I think something that combines her excellent people skills with her ability to problem solve and get things accomplished. She wants to be with smart kids, but does not want an overachiever culture. The trimester system would work well for her learning style. She's very open and fair-minded, a true friend, enjoys a good party. Her only concern is the possibility of the school feeling too small after a few years, although we think it is best opportunities for her to get some guidance on career choices, internships, etc. Any thoughts? Suggestions for the interview?

She loves much of what she has seen/heard/read. Thanks.

You are right about the small size of the school helping with individual guidance on a variety of topics. There are increased opportunity for internships, career help, leadership postions, and more of the like.

Our interviews are evaluative, so we use the interviews to determine why you are interested in the college and how you might fit in. It is a chance to ask questions and learn about the school, while the admissions counselors can also learn about you.

Good luck!
