I am planning to self study at most two or three AP subjects this year as a sophomore. I am already taking an APWH course since that is the only course my school offers to sophomores, and my choices for self studying are: AP Physics 1, Environmental Science, Human Geography and Biology.

I took a physics class last year, so I have prior knowledge of it. I am taking Biology this year, so I thought it would be easier self studying it, or Environmental and Human Geography, I heard, overlaps with APWH.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

First, why do you plan on self studying? It will not make your course load more impressive or benefit your college admissions. If you will to gain college credit, however, its a very viable means of doing so if you are hard working.

I am assuming you are going for college credit so I am automatically knocking out human geo, since most schools will not give you credit. If you are taking honors bio, I would recommend self studying bio and environmental science, as those kind of go together. If you’re not taking honors bio, I would just recommend environmental, as its kind of an aside to bio. Note, though, that not all schools give credit for environmental. You could also do AP physics 1 in that case but I don’t know what that will get you in terms of college, however, it should get you out of a gen ed. It shouldn’t be too hard, especially if you’ve already taken physics.
