Help! Fin Aid!

What does Axess mean by "Stanford Fund"? Is that loans, grants, both, what?

I am not 100% sure but I think ...

Stanford Fund is a specific grant that the university awards ONLY to undergraduate students. This is in addition to the "general university scholarship." Also, Stanford finances this from a different source, mainly alumni donations and maybe even that 1 billion dollar for undergrad campaign they had.

So in conclusion, I think you shouldn't worry about the details. It's just more grant that you don't have to pay back!

That's good to know. I assume you're right. I'm just excessively paranoid. One more question: Stanford financial aid website estimates their annual cost at 44,667 - but when I click on my aid offer through Axess, it uses 45,922. What's up with that?

I think Axess has the most recent figures, unfortunately :(

i can't access axess. the SU ID and the password is on the sticker right?

That makes sense - but I read an article on the fin. aid. site that states what the committee approved for tuition and room and board rates...which is why I'm confused. Perhaps the extra figures were included in increases in expected personal spending?

hmm, perhaps??!! This is what Axess is giving me for cost of attendance:

Statics: I think only EA admits can access Axess. The initial username and login password where sent in a separate letter.

Oh, I didn't see the clicky thing to get those figures. So, yes, the actual tuition and room and board rates are the same as the other site said. The difference is in the "other stuff." Which is great! I didn't know they factored in travel!
