I am interested in LAC education and most possibly major/minor in Film, econ, or double major.
And I wanna work in film Industry in the future.
Anyone can recommend me a few top LACs with good film/cinema department? now I only know Oberlin and F&M have that major.
minor is OK, Thanks.

Definitely Wesleyan

Yeah, Wes has one of the top film studies departments, period, certianly one of if not the top amoungst LACs. We have a big presence in the industry, given our small size (the "Wesleayn mafia"). Econ is also good here, and while we dont allow minors, double majors are fairly common.

Also check out Vassar, which also has a very good department.

When it comes to Film, Wesleyan is in a league of its own among LACs.

To add: I've heard good things about the film program at Bard. Also maybe Hampshire, if you like the more alternative approach.

Also, Ct College has a film program.

Thanks, how about Claremont Mckenna College?

I've never heard/seen Calaremont McKenna come up when film was being discussed before, which leads me to suspect that it is not well known at all, so even if it is good, it probably will not be that helpful for getting a foot into the industry.

That said, it's a good school in general with very good econ, and the near LA location would be very good for getting internships, so it could work out. I've also seen Pomona come up at least once.

All of the Claremont Colleges are the same film program ... Pomona, Pitzer, Scripps, Harvey Mudd, CMC ...

"Intercollegiate Media Studies" ... Intercollegiate Media Studies
