HELP: How/where to send teacher recs?

I'm applying to MIT and U. Michigan. First question is, what kind of envelope should I give to my teachers? Should it be a letter-sized envelope or a big manilla envelope so that the papers aren't folded... Which is better?

Also, do I need to include anything besides the stamped and addressed envelope and the rec forms?

Third question: Do I address the rec forms to the Office of Admissions? Do they need to write anything else on the envelope (like who is sending it and for whom they are sending it) or will they figure it out?

Thanks so much

My kids gave their teachers letter sized envelopes, already stamped and addressed, and on the lower left hand corner wrote student’s name (more for the teacher’s sake than the admissions office).

Address should be the same as wherever the rest of your materials, like transcripts, essays, stc. are going.

Only the rec. form should be sent in the envelope. However, you may want to give your teachers a short bio/resume/info. about yourself .
