i just epic failed on a test and i am pretty sure i am going to get a b in AP Chemistry

I did the math and, assuming i get an a in everything else, i will end up with a 3.9640 gpa in my senior year ---currently high school sophomore-----

will this get me booted out of the admissions race for MIT? Please what do i do!!!!!!!!!!

Dude, you don’t need straight A’s to get into MIT. Calm down. There are 4.0/2400 people who get rejected while people with lesser scores (that still show competence) who actually did things with their lives get in.

Of course, some people have both, but whatever :P

Dude…you’re screwed. I was just like you, back in '97.
I didn’t try hard in middle school, so I was put into Calc AB instead of BC as a freshman. I knew this would kill my chances, so I tried my best to get all A’s. One day, we took the hardest Physics C test ever. I got a 94.97 on it, where anything 95 or higher is an A. My parents would not accept my A-, and they grounded me, refusing to pay for my Shonen Jump subscriptions and World of Warcraft accounts. It was at this point I knew I would fail at life, no matter what grades I got my next three years. Despite taking 20 APs, and getting valedictorian (just shy of a perfect 4.0 because of my A- in AP Physics C as a freshman), I was rejected from all the Ivies, MIT, Stanford, etc. Take it from someone who’s been through it before, kid. Don’t waste your $50. But you’re not completely out of luck yet; I hear more community colleges are operating on a rolling basis. MIT is a school where they only look for two things. 2400 SAT and 4.0 GPA. They don’t care about your essays, recs, or ECs. Passion means nothing to them. Grades and scores are all that matters. Your B in AP Chem was the gateway to you future career at McDonald’s, if you’re lucky. In this day and age and economy, you’d be happy to find a job at all.

wow…way to be pessimistic… i think that your attitude is the thing that did not get u into MIT…try reading the accepted/rejected post in the MIT forums…

pi face is joking with you, MIT. He is, in his droll way, telling you to relax and not worry so much. It’ll be okay. You can still apply to MIT in a couple of years. In the meantime, do you have any extracurriculars? Maybe that would be a good place to start.

My school also uses infinite number of Significant figures minus one.
My gpa is 3.999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999…
So, I will probably be eliminated in the first round.
I hope that the admissions will recognize that my gpa is 4.

LOLLLL hahaha. okay first off OP is …definitely a ■■■■■. And you really don’t have to read more than one sentence of Pi Face’s post to understand the sarcasm…it just shows the sad state of CC right now.

On a side note, i just realized that more than one person took pi face seriously ^_^.
