Help!! I cant decide!!

Someone told me that the showers in the dorms at IU are completely open... No walls, no curtains... Can anyone verify or deny this for me? I would really appreciate it.. this could make or break my decision. Thanks!

That's not true at all.

I live in the dorms right now and that is not true. The showers actually get warm pretty quick too (friends at Northwestern complain that the dorm showers never heat up in the winter).

ok, so there are like partitions and stalls for showers and stuff? I play competitive sports and i shower in front of other ppl a lot thats no big its just the whole people i dont know thing... haha

I live in Read and our showers are walled off on 4 sides by tiled walls or by a door. Ultimate privacy.

Also, the water has the reverse effect. When i'm showering, sometimes it will get TOO HOT then it will go back to normal hahahah. It takes like 15 seconds for the shower to heat up, so it's very nice. That was actually one of the great parts of IU, the fact that the showers defied the stereotype :)

thats good. I mean i guess its really not a big deal everyone else in my family (3 brothers and a sister) went or are at IU right now. My brother plays football, and he loves it.. i dont think hell ever leave. But i am told i should send in my housing deposit as soon as possible. I am majoring Human Biology.. what dorm would you reccomend for an incoming freshman?

You pick neighborhoods, not dorms. For a biology major, I'd suggest Central.

My daughter is thinking she might like the Sports and Society themed living center. Or maybe the Outdoor LLC or Themed one. If she were to live in Northwest would it be close enough to the HYPR building? I know Sports and Society is in NW. I know she enjoys a party, but not EVERY night. On the other hand, I know she doesn’t to be in a “dead neighborhood”, either. How far or close IS HYPR from the various neighborhoods?

The HPER building is southwest of the Northwestern neighborhood and just westh of the Central neighborhood. It is probably about 10 minutes from Northwest, 15 minutes from Central, and 20 minutes from Southeast (walking time).

Look next to the IU Art Museum on the map for the HPER building.
