HELP! I need advice on transferring to UCLA, UCSD, and UCSB as a Bio major!

Hello!
I am a biology major at a community college. Currently this is my first year second semester. One of recommended pre-reqs for my major is organic chemistry. One semester for UCLA, but two semesters for UCSB. I am taking my general chemistry classes my sophomore year (Fall 2019 & Spring 2020), and there are no organic chemistry classes offered in my school during the summer. Do you think not taking O-chem at cc will hinder my acceptance to UCSB or UCLA? I really do not want to stay for a third year at this college. I got a 4.0 my first semester and I’m pretty sure I’ll get all A’s again this semester. My extracurricular’s are good as well, it’s just getting organic chemistry into the picture. Please help ):

for UCSB you can use TAG for guaranteed admission. O-chem is not required to be eligible to xfer for Biochem and for some similar majors. If you are missing pre-major classes that are recommended but not required then you will sit in the pre-major after xfer and take them at UC prices instead of CC prices; if there are any classes for which you must have o-chem first or be accepted into the full major then you can’t enroll and so you may end up spending 3 years at UCSB. On the other hand you will be at UCSB. See http://admissions.sa.ucsb.edu/docs/default-source/PDFs/ucsb-tag-fall-2019.pdf?sfvrsn=12 and http://admissions.sa.ucsb.edu/docs/default-source/PDFs/transfer-major-preparation-guide.pdf?sfvrsn=20 You should also work with your xfer center and talk to the UC reps who visit your CC regularly.

For UCLA there is no guaranteed admission, but they have a TAP program that gives preference in admission. See if your school is part of the program. UCLA differs from UCSB in that they say they require you to complete o-chem to be eligible to xfer to biochem. See http://www.admission.ucla.edu/prospect/Adm_tr/lsmajors/biochem.htm or for whatever major you are thinking about. On the other hand people post here that they have been accepted w/o meeting all the requirements. Call admissions and the dept and ask.

Ahh thank you so much! I talked to my transfer center counselor and they said the same thing.
