Help! I submitted my SUNY and CUNY already but my parents said that I'm apply for Early Decision.

Hello everyone. I'm sorry for the inconvenience but I submitted my cuny and suny applications before December but I have no intentions in applying for Early Decision or Early Action. I used the SUNY And CUNY app since I'm New York student and there was no option saying about picking which type of admission I going for. I thought I was going for rolling admission instead of ED and EA. I was ill-informed by college counselor after my parents revealed this. Now I need help. What should I do?

It is your parents who seem to be confused. ED is a limited option offered at few of the campuses. You would have to designate of any of your apps were ED. EA is not a problem anyway as it is nonbinding.

Several SUNY campuses offer either Early Decision or Early Action.

Early Decision is a binding program for fall freshmen and can be used for one college choice only. The participating schools are: University at Buffalo, Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF), Fredonia, Geneseo, Maritime, and Oswego. Early Decision applications are due November 14 at Maritime, November 15 at University at Buffalo, Fredonia and Geneseo, November 30 at Oswego and December 1 at ESF. If admitted, you will be asked to make a tuition deposit by January 15 and withdraw all other college applications.

Early Action is a non-binding early application/notification program for fall freshman available at Albany, Binghamton, Cortland, New Paltz, Old Westbury, Oneonta, Purchase (College of Liberal Arts and Sciences only), and SUNY Polytechnic Institute (formerly SUNYIT). To apply, your application must be received by November 15 (November 30 at Purchase and December 1 at SUNY Polytechnic Institute (formerly SUNYIT) and Oneonta). If accepted, you will have until May 1 to finalize your enrollment decision.
