Hi everyone!

I'm from Switzerland and I'm completing my application without a counselor's help so I sometimes struggle to understand everything correctly. My questions concern the teacher evaluations and the transcript/school report/school profile.

I have asked two teachers to write recommendations.
They have to fill out the common app teacher evaluation form, right? How do they access and submit this form? How do they submit the written recommendations?

I will ask my principal to fill out the common app school report, to send in transcripts and to send in the school profile.
How can he access and submit the common app school report? How can he send in the transcripts and school profile? What exactly is the school profile?

Is there anything else I need to ask my teachers/principal to do (except midyear report + perhaps the final report)?

On another note, I spent 6 months in France during 10th grade. There I received 2 report cards. Does the principal in France need to submit these transcripts + a common app school report + a school profile as well? The problem is, the school wasn't very responsible and I doubt that they will a) have kept my transcripts b) be able to correctly fill in all the needed forms c) submit the credentials on time at the right place.

I'd really appreciate some help as I'm completely clueless! Thank you!

When completing your common application, you will be given an option of putting your recommenders (2 people I believe); name and email address. Common application will send them an email with access code to upload your recommendation letter and submit it for you. Same thing with the principal or Vice principal… who ever does the transcript (report cards).
The school profile, briefly tells US schools what type of school you are attending, setting, population, grading system etc - it is very brief and can be done in any format you school chooses.Mid year report is needed if you are still in school by the time of your application and your final grades are not posted yet - this basically gives US schools where you stand so far pending your final grades.
It is much better because they only have to do it once, and the same letter will be sent to all the schools you applied to.

Have you have a conversation with your Secondary school counselor, principal etc? I would believe that you are not the first in your school to apply to US colleges, except the school just started. So talk to them, they must have had students that they have done this for in the past and will know exactly what to do.

Best of luck to you.

Thank you so much! In fact, I am the first of my school to apply to university in the USA so everyone is relatively unfamiliar with it. But I will talk to my principal.

One more question: My high school transcript should include my grades in every subject from 9th to current, right?

Yes.
Some tabulate it like 3 terms terms for one grade.( and either put exact numbers or letter grades) ie (90% or A etc)… or however your report card looks, thats how they have to upload to common application site.

Okay, wonderful thanks a lot!

Colleges will still accept paper recommendations, etc from international students. You could contact the admissions offices of a few of your colleges to ask them if that is okay, too.

Hey alittleriddle

Welche Colleges/Universities interessieren dich?

CC requires posts to be in English.
