Okay, so my hs has majors. Since freshmen year I've been in computer science. We did web design in freshmen year and computer programing in sophomore year, both which I did well. So this year we have to take AP COMP SCI. I HATE IT. IT'S ALL JAVA AND I HATE IT. I just hate class. Like I dread going to it. I'm failing the class because my I just don't understand anything. When u try to learn, my class makes fun of me. The teacher barely helps, he ridicules me sometimes, i don't understand his teaching ways and also I think he doesn't like me. I'M TRYING TO GET A GOOD GPA THIS YEAR AND AP COMP SCI IS ONLY BRINGING IT DOWN. ALL MY OTHER GRADES ARE REALLY GOOD. IDK WHAT TO DO. THE MARKING PERIOD ENDS IN A WEEK AND I'M DOING HORRIBLE. PLEASE HELP ME ASAP!!! IDK WHAT TO DO!!!

FACT: 90% OF THE KIDS WHO TTOOK IT LAST YEAR FAILED THE ENTIRE YEAR.

If you can’t drop it then I would talk to the kids in your class that know what they’re doing and the kids who’ve taken it in the past years who passed. Maybe you could switch your major?

I have my fingers crossed for switching. But we’re into the school year and I highly doubt I’ll be able to catch up.

@1234PJ4321: I’m doing AP CS online here: https://users-mooc.amplify.com/learn.html
It’s going a bit slow and you may have to do some self study for the exam, but the lectures are pretty good. It’s self paced and there are a few students who just started, so if you work you can definitely catch up. I would recommend looking into it so you can learn outside of class. You can watch lectures on just the topics that confuse you, on everything, just do the practice problems, or some combination of the above.

What language did you learn sophomore year?

@Kawaiiii c

@1234PJ4321

Well, if you know one language good enough then you can other languages fairly quickly, just have to re-learn the syntax.

What exactly is java troubling you with if you already know C? BTW, you can always head over to stackoverflow or sites like those for help with stuff.

I was almost in the same position. The only difference is that we don’t have majors. I chose to drop the class two weeks ago but it was too late for this semester. I’m switching to AP Psych next semester because it sounds much easier and more interesting. If you are genuinely not interested in the class like I was, I would advise you to switch out rather than suffer all year. If you have any questions, fell free to message me.
