So it's about that time to choose classes again. I'm pretty much decided on my schedule but I'm having somewhat of a dilemma here. I don't know whether I should take ap Econ or ap enviro..

Any advice or first-hand experience would be greatly appreciated.

My friends in school are doing Econ and they hate it, apparently it’s really dry and not too easy. I’ve heard Environmental Science is much better and easier. This is just the opinion of a few people, though! Some could feel the opposite, depends on every individual. I suggest you go to the library or online, check out both the books, the topic outlines, details etc and see what you think you’d like more. Talk to both the teachers as well! And people who are like-minded.

Well, it really depends. If you decide to do something with science in the future, Enviro would probably be the better choice. If you choice something with finance/business econ is definitely the better option. But if it is just a matter of which one with no preference involved, I would go with macro/micro because from what I have heard, most colleges consider Enviro to easy and not a “challenging” AP. Like the ccer said above, ask around your school and listen to what some of the people say about each class.

chaosk-- I’ve heard the same. Enviro is supposedly a “joke” ap class, but ap nonetheless. Econ is known to be more difficult but from what I’ve heard, you gain practical knowledge from the class…

itsafunnything-- I’m definitely a more sciency person given that I’ve taken ap chem, phys, and bio. Yet, ap Econ just sounds so interesting! I’ll definitely have to go to the library and read up on each…

APES is really easy, and Econ would look like a more rigorous course. However in terms of interest, APES is much more interesting than Econ, which can be very boring. In the end, you have to consider whether your college will takes APES credit (most take econ), and whether you’re looking for an easy class or a harder class to show adcomms
