I got in to stanford and princeton and I don't know which to choose. I live in California, and I know the weather in the east is bad, but honestly, I have always been resistant to cold weather. So the weather isn't a problem. I am going to be a human bio major and then go to medical school. I know Princeton has a medical school acceptance rate of about 90% for its undergrads, but im sure stanford has a high rate, too. But im worried about grade deflation at princeton. Also, is it true stanford has a policy of grade inflation? And, of course, there is the problem of distance. My parents don't think I should go far. Actually, they're pretty much demanding it. But i'm not sure i want to go to the same school as my brother, Stanford. Help me!!

Stanford has D-I athletics, go there.

1)I’m pretty sure only Stanford has humbio
2) Stanford doesn’t have a “policy of grade inflation” like Princeton has a “policy of grade deflation”, but yes Stanford is more grade inflated than Princeton-no denying that
3) Don’t worry too much about distance, there are advantages to being close to home as well as seeing a different part of the country…I personally think they are about equal for me

I’m from the West Coast too and I’d say go to Princeton, its the East Coast, it’ll be an adventure

One note on “grade deflation” - if you’re thinking about majoring in science/engineering (as most pre-meds are), Princeton grade distributions for those subjects haven’t really changed as a result of the new policies. On the other hand, if you wanted to study Art History…

US NEWS ranks Stanford #1 in biological science, Princeton #12.

ha!..the student is long gone…

the first post is from a year ago…

Princeton all the way! Stanford has a few idiots…sorry to be so blunt in my language, but Princeton does not have that problem. Also they are very strong in math and english, and they dont take transfers either! If you end up not liking it you could still transfer to Stanford.
