Guys I need help. I’m the most indecisive person ever.
I’m torn between Cornell, Duke, Brown, and MAYBE Dartmouth (I really don’t know anything about the school and hear so much mixed info about it).
I have a few points I’m considering but I know very little
- academic reputation
- weather (I love snowy winter)
- ivy league name (because duke is in the running)
- most (quantity and value) future connections after graduating
- social groups (because I hear that students at Brown are very individualized and not as social as other schools, but correct me if I'm wrong)
- party life
- girls!
PLEASE RESPOND WITH:
a) MORE INFO
b) corrections for anything I say
c) SELLING POINTS for each school
d) other things I should consider in truly making my life enjoyable and happy
e) argue amongst each other so I can truly hear different perspectives and arguments
Pleaseeeeeeee help me, I need as much information as possible and arguments for or against schools. I would REALLY appreciate it.
Thank you so much
All are excellent. I would research yourself on the schools sites. Princeton’s review and studen reviews sites. All have equal value and connections.
Nobody can tell you the best school for you. If you know “very little” about the schools, how are you going to convince an adcom you’d be an asset to their campus?
CC isn’t a debate society. Trying to turn it into one is a good way to get your thread shut down.
If some of your criteria for choosing a college are “party life” and “girls”, I think you need to do better research for these schools. The ones listed are academically serious and lack the party culture you must want. Don’t apply ED anywhere until you know them well. Have you visited?
OP,
How about basic info: GPA (W and UW), test scores, ECs? The schools you list are very, very selective. Maybe you’re a rock-solid student who will breeze into these schools. We have no idea. We’re not negative people, looking to rain on students’ parades, but let’s say that you are a strong candidate for these three Ivies (plus one Ivy-equivalent). We could list other schools that are strong matches and safeties.
An earlier poster is correct. Your post would get more feedback if it were phrased differently. The Internet means that you have a wealth of information at your fingertips. I’m not sure that asking the CC community to do this work for you is the best strategy.
As for partying and girls (young women), um, you’ll find that at just about any school. Stereotypically, Duke and Dartmouth–both have thriving social scenes and Greek life–fit the bill, I think, in terms of what your comment is hinting at.
