I would like a school in the mid-atlantic states or new england.
smart,friendly student body.
not overly competitive.
** offers need based aid **.
preferably midsized but size doesn't matter much.

I'm thinking Scranton but have no clue about the financial aid.
I also had Macalester in mind but it's too far away.

I'm retaking taking the SAT in december btw. around 3.7 gpa not sure exactly. I currently take 4 APs and mostly 3s and 4s on the exams (the ones i took last year and sophmore year).

I'm low income, first generation in college.

I need FINANCIAL AID but don't want to attend my state school. it's too big and i heard it's more expensive to attend state schools than some private schools if you get aid.

Most colleges offer need-based aid. I would like to suggest a few of them: Sarah Lawrence College, Connecticut College, Ursinus College, Gettysburg College, Juanita College, and Goucher College. I'm giving you a range because you have not mentioned your other test scores (i.e. ACT or SAT).

thanks for your suggestions. i'll look into those schools.
sat: 1750. i didn't register for the sat subject tests 'cause my GC mistook the SAT II waiver form for the SAT I, so now even though i had no intention of retaking the sat, i'll have to.

do you know some schools that don't require SAT IIs because i have no clue about them and it's pretty much to late to start registering, studying e.t.c.

I know middlebury doesn't require them but the school's a reach for me and i need matches too.

many schools are reaches for me and i only just realized that.lol

Try a few of these test scores optional schools:

Mt. Holyoke College
Franklin & Marshall College
Hobart & William Smith College
Ursinus College
Wheaton College (MA)
Dickinson College
Juniata College
Hampshire College
