Hi, this is my first time posting on this forum and after a few weeks of lurking, I thought this would be a great place to get advice regarding school.

My current situation regarding school isn't very good at all. In high school, I did a running start program to help me graduate because I was very low on credits and because I did terrible in these classes. I basically did running start for credits and not really for the gpa because I wasn't planning on going to college at the time and my focus was on graduating high school.

I graduated from high school last year and since then, I've been really interested in going back to college and the biggest thing holding me back is my running start grades. After speaking with a counselor at the community college, we decided that academic renewal would be my best option.

I just wanted to know how academic renewal is going to affect me in the future when I transfer to a university. Are my dreams of transferring to a good school over because of my bad grades from running start?

If anyone has any advice, please share them with me. Thanks!

Also, I've been thinking about joining the Air Force in the mean time while I wait for academic renewal to kick in and I was wondering if that would benefit me in going to a good college.

EDIT: My high school record was terrible as well and I wanted to know how that was going to affect me when I transfer as well.
