1500 SAT CRM/ 2220 SAT
3.49 UW/ 3.83 W-no class rank
Strong ECs but nothing extraordinary
Very strong subject test scores (750+ on both of them)
New York resident (but money is not of huge importance to me)
Well, that puts about 2,900 colleges in the US in reach for you. What is your actual SAT breakdown? What is your proposed major? Do you have a preference in size & type (LAC vs research university)? Any geographic preference? Do care about things like Greek life and D1 sports? Are there any schools that already appeal to you, and why?
My breakdown is 800 M/700 CR/720 W. My proposed major would either by Chemistry or Public Health. I don’t have a preference about size, type, geographic location, greek life, sports, etc. I am looking at many state schools right now. I like UMD College Park because of its diverse population and wide variety of majors, as well as the studious environment. I like TCNJ because of the same reasons, and the fact that it is mid-sized.
Check out Johns Hopkins and Emory, although they would be reaches for your GPA. Both would be good choices for your possible majors and are mid-sized.
Your GPA and test scores seem lopsided. Did you attend a private or a very rigorous high school w/little grade inflation or were you a less focused student?
A little bit of both, I do go to an extremely rigorous public school with little inflation, and I started out as a less focused student and had an increasing GPA trend, as I became more focused in my studies
An upward trajectory always helps.

I would suggest Case Western as a match to low reach (they have early action, good aid and $0 application fee). Two other reaches that rank #12 in Biomedical are Boston College and Northwestern. Northwestern is a reach (for everyone) and Boston College is a low reach. With a public health major you should look for schools that are associated with a teaching hospitals. Most states have one like Stony Brook for NY and Aiken for North Carolina - both would be good backups. Stony Brook is a great value since you are instate so I highly recommend as a backup. With public health you are going to have to get a masters any way so great grades at a public college won’t hurt you. Good luck!
You say money is not of great importance for you. How about your parents? Will they pay $60K+/year?
Georgetown
@“Erin’s Dad” We’ll have to think about that haha. But for now, we are just brainstorming the list.
Check out Tulane. Great public health and chemistry. It would be a match. They love high SAT’s, might get some merit aid.
Mid-sized colleges with very good Chemistry and/or Public Health and a full complement of college athletics and Greek life. Diversity varies but all are located in or near diverse metropolitan areas.
