Help me OMG i am going to die omg

Okay hello people I am right now just so much in shock and I am crying right now so my grammar and all that stuff will kinda out of place but please listen to me and help me

I am junior of high school going to 2nd semester now.

I say I had good grades in my freshmen and sophomore class year. I had only 1 B and 5A for both year and all 4 semester.
Ap or honors classes was not available for first 2 years in my high school.
so which means that I had all regular classes

But in Junior year it gets all ugly.
Ap and honors classes were available and I took it.
IT WAS THE WORST MISTSKE THAT I EVER MADE IN MY LIFE

I took 2 Ap class and 1 honors and I completely failed in all 3 class.

but its not only that 3 I also failed in my math.

so over all my 1st semester grade was

2 A (Both regular)
3 C (1 AP 1 Honor 1 regular)
1 D (Ap)

and my weighted GPA was 2.8

I had 3.8 in my both first 2 years of my high school and now I am down to 2.8

I just don't know what to do now I don't even know what to tell my parents because they have so much high expectation for me.

I know its all my mistake. I should've studied more and reviewed more and just not get distracted...

.......... now here is the all the other thing that I did.

played sports since freshmen

took class in CC during summer ( Algebra 2 btw I passed it)

did internship for congress ( It was voting for city council)

joined key club THIS YEAR

........ here is what i'm planning to do

1.I was planning to play sport for all 4 year but I decide to not play the sport this year to focus in my education.
2. start to volunteer in local hospital
3. bring back my grades to at least 3.8 ( Because that what had before)
4. was looking for UC but now that's not going to happen
5. go to state college first and transfer to UC
6. trying to rock the SAT/ACT

so now THE QUESTIONS ARE

what would college admissions will think when they look at my GPA ( 3.8 to 2.8)

is not playing sport this year ( junior ) good idea (playing in senior year tho)

can I at least get in to California state universities?

If I do good in SAT/ACT would that help me

For the D I have, if I take summer online class during summer, and get better than D, would that change my grade in my transcript?

so I have 2.8 in first semester right? so if I have at least 3.8 in second semester, would that help me in any kind of way

okay here way my life

sorry if my spelling or grammar or anything was wrong my eyes are full of tear rn I cant even control my self.

please please answer this questions for me please and give me any kind of advice if you have. Also please trying to be real please don't sugar coat anything please tell me the reality. Thank you all.

Hi … I know how stressful junior year is. Let me give you what perspective I have, although I don’t have any inside knowledge about college admissions.

I think they will look at the drop in GPA and think there was something going on in your life. You can explain what happened in one of your essays. Maybe you can talk about how you’ve grown and learned. Ideally your next semester grades will show improvement, and it looks like you are already planning changes to your schedule to turn things around.

Unless you are team captain or you (or your team) is likely to win a state or national championship, not playing a sport junior year shouldn’t matter much. One of my kids dropped his sport junior year … it was just too much. In fact several kids did that–and they all got into very good colleges.

CA state universities don’t really consider your extracurriculars … just grades and test scores. Are you a CA resident? If so, the state universities generally save more spaces for local residents, so definitely apply to whatever school is in your area.

Absolutely!

I’m not sure about how it works, but I think the new grade replaces the old one as far as calculating GPA. I think the first grade still appears on your transcript though.

A jump back up to your previous level would lend support to any argument that there was something out of the ordinary going on in your life then, and you got things back under control. So, if you can pull it off, that would be a very good thing.

Good luck this next semester!

By the way, don’t write off the UCs yet … you should still apply to all the ones you would like to attend. You never know if you’ll get in or not. You may be pleasantly surprised.

The new grade does not replace the old grade, when calculating GPAs. Say you got a 65% and retook the course and received a 90%. They would average out the 2 GPAs so (1+3.67)/2=2.34.

My friend made the same mistake as you, taking 4 AP 2 Honors with almost all Cs. How competitive is your school?

OP, you need to chill…you are not going to die. Crap happens in life and then you put on your big boy/big girl panties and then regroup. Think of where you can go now and then do your best

I feel your pain and understand your devastation. First, you need to talk to the guidance counselor at your school to assess the real damage and determine the next steps. It looks like you won’t have to repeat any classes, right?
As the other poster said, unless you are being recruited for sports and play on a state level, a sport means very little.
Also, look at this as a learning experience. Some kids can do well with more rigor and some thrive in regular classes. You have learned that crazy pace does not suit you. And that is OK.
This whole admission thing has gone Crazy with kids thinking that only Ivy acceptances mean a good future. I would say from my many years experience just the opposite is true! Students need to take advanced classes in what they like- not just for resume building. Pursue what you love, look for a college that may not be so selective but fits who you are and prepare for your SAT or ACT.
This will work out better than you think,

My oldest child took honors math in the fall (I forget if it was 10th or 11th grade), didn’t do well and switched to regular in the spring. I was worried it would look bad, but we talked about it and decided it was better to keep a high GPA, especially since engineering wasn’t being considered at all. It’s something you might want to consider …

If you can show how much you bring your grades back up during your second semester grades and your senior year grades, you can even talk about this in your essays and show college admissions officers how you have changed through this experience.

Also agree with sports - it doesn’t help unless you want to get recruited, or unless you can talk about how sports has affected you.
